Sunday worship service is casual and consists of a blend of traditional and modern elements including a variety of arts, liturgies, special events, and surprises of the Holy Spirit. Our worship services seek to craft an encounter with the Holy in and among us, shaping us to be a loving presence for our community and to ourselves.
Service is held in our flexible and open Sanctuary. In our worship services we explore the foundations our faith heritage, including covenant, communication, discipleship and social justice and seek together how to live meaningfully in our time.
The congregation sings! The congregation often participates in the choir’s special music. We love singing our inclusive language hymns but also celebrate modern and international music in our worship as well.
The children and youth are invited to attend worship and are included in worship every Sunday through our Word for All Ages. Sunday School follows our Word for All Ages, or families can choose to remain together for the remainder of the service.
Communion is celebrated the first Sunday of each month. We celebrate an Open Table Communion at First Congregational United Church of Christ which means members and visitors are welcome to participate in this sacred and joyous time.
The special Sundays of Easter, Christmas, Pentecost, and Thanksgiving are celebrated as well as other special Sundays such as Mothers Day and Fathers Day. The celebrations might feature liturgical dance, singing services, or musical artists. There are special events in the services for Advent and Lent as well as during the weeks of these Holy seasons.
No matter where you are on life’s journey, you are welcomed here!
