Bridge Pastor, Jane Jones

Hello!

I’m Pastor Jane Jones, and it will be my honor to serve Flagstaff UCC as the Bridge Pastor for the next many months.  My focus primarily will be to plan and facilitate worship, but I will also be connecting with members who may be experiencing the “COVID Blues”…feeling left out, worried, or just tired of the whole thing.

While your leadership has done an amazing job in recent months, it’s difficult to keep a congregation feeling united through the challenging times you’ve experienced since COVID began.  Now that I’m here to help, my goal is to reach out to each of you to spend a little one-on-one time (safely distanced, of course!), and then maintain contact as we work through the next phases of our time together, in or out of the church building.

Until I see you, know that you are in my prayers each day.  Keep hope and peace in your hearts…I do believe better days are ahead.

Music Director, Evan Courtney

Evan Courtney has loved church music since he was a kid, growing up in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He started playing the organ in church when he was 14, and continued on to study music at William Jewell College, in Liberty, Missouri, a suburb of Kansas City. He received a degree in Church Music and Organ Performance in 2012, and worked as a church musician and conductor in Kansas City until July of 2015, at which time he accepted the position of Director of Music Ministries at the United Methodist Church of Red Bank, New Jersey. Since then, Evan has lived and worked at the Jersey Shore, where he is able to make music with a host of wonderful musicians, including so many people at the UMC of Red Bank. He has also enjoyed performing with various arts organizations, including the Monmouth Civic Chorus and the Garden State Philharmonic. Evan is so excited to be able to provide First Congregational Church of Flagstaff with music during the COVID-19 pandemic, and while the arrangement is temporary, he knows that his experiences here will be lasting ones.

Office Manager, Emma Jo Serbiak

Emma Jo is a junior at Northern Arizona University. She has been a part of the Scottsdale Congregational UCC all her life. She took part in the UCC summer youth camp from 2007-2018 first as a camper and later as a program staff and counselor.

She started as Office Manager in January 2020 helping with administration and online presence of FCCF. Since the pandemic, Emma Jo has started facilitating worship via Zoom.

If you have any questions regarding the church or how you can join us for worship, she is the best point of contact and can be reached at fccflagstaff@gmail.com
